About Witmer-Tyson Imports
The combined experience of owners Randy Tyson-Witmer and David Witmer spans many decades. Randy has been training dogs for over forty-five years. She imported her first dog from Germany and began purchasing dog equipment and supplies from companies in Germany because of their superior quality.
David is a retired police officer with a college degree in police science. He worked with a police dog for 11 of his 18 years of active duty.
Through Tyson Kennels, Randy and David train dogs and maintain the training program for over seventy law enforcement agencies. These agencies buy their supplies from Witmer Tyson Imports. In the early days, most equipment took about six months to ship from overseas. Today, thanks to well-stocked warehouse, it take just a few days to fill most orders from this catalog.
Our years of experience in dog training and police work allow us to assist you in selecting the most appropriate equipment for your training needs. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like more information. Our address and phone contact information appear at the bottom of every page on this site.

Our Breeding Standards
We strive to maintain the highest breeding standards for the German Shepherd Dog, as described by the German SV (www.schaeferhund.de). The German Shepherd Dog is a strong, agile, well muscled animal, alert and full of life. It is well balanced with harmonious development of the front and rear quarters. Longer than tall, deep-bodied, it looks substantial, not spindly, reflecting a high level of fitness. The dog must be stamped with a look of quality and nobility; this is difficult to define but unmistakable when present. The ideal German Shepherd Dog is a working animal with an incorruptible character combined with body and gait suitable for the arduous work that constitutes its primary purpose.
We have lived with, bred and raised German Shepherd Dogs for over 45 years and we are committed to the quality of the breed. We will continue to breed dogs to serve families: the type of dog that will protect their children. We will also continue to breed service dogs for the police; these are the best of all working dogs. These are dogs with real courage, they are real heroes working against crime. Sport dogs are those that keep their handlers busy training and give us the future for our breeding. Dogs of good type can be shown in the breed ring. We title our German Shepherd Dogs in Schutzhund, and we show and breed survey every dog for our breeding program.
